Course Details

Instructor: Dustin Grice –“For me personally, the world of graphic design and learning to build websites has built myself a foundation that changed my entire life… Since going to college here myself at HTC I’ve worked remotely on hundreds of projects for clients while traveling to dozens of different countries around the world… Life is anything you are willing to learn and create. I look forward to helping kick start and motivating you on your own foundation and visions.”

Course Format: Asynchronous: Optional Weekly Check In via Zoom, Questions, Help, etc *Flexible Time for Additional Assistance when Scheduled with Instructor

Room: Brooklyn Park – H185 *When/if on Campus

Book: We do not have any book costs, however as web developers we do need web hosting space to build websites on the internet. We have worked out a deal with a web hosting provider to give students three free months of web hosting, and then ballpark around $100/annually depending on your domain name, add-ons, etc.

Software: Mac or PC Free Coding Program (Atom, Coda, Text Wrangler), Internet Browser

Example Projects: WordPress Website for Mock-Client, as well as your own chosen WordPress Website as well (Highly recommended to find an actual client, website for a friend, etc)

Midterm “Student Spotlight” Presentations: Not Presenting (All Students Required to Attend)

Finals “Student Spotlight” Presentations: Non-Profit or Self Chosen Website Project (All Students Required to Present)
